In this generation, I believe it is more than important to know how valuable you are. We live in a generation where your value seems to be measured by your outer beauty, the amount of likes you receive from a social media post, and the amount of friends and followers you have. All of those things are in no way important, and we’ve been brainwashed to think that those things are where our value lies. When you know your value and are able to identify who you are, things of that nature do not sway you.
Who am I in God?
If you know who you are, you won’t worry so much about what you need in life. Jesus died on the cross for our sins in order bring us freedom from anything and everything that has kept us bound. There is no sin or former sin that can keep us from God’s love. God sees us as His chosen people, meaning that we are favored beyond anything else that walks or swims across the earth. We are important. God died for us. He didn’t waste His death on the animals or the trees, or the mountains, and etc. Simply knowing that information should be enough to convince you of your importance in this life. God sees the potential that is within you and wants nothing less than for you to live your proper destiny.
You are beautiful. There’s no such thing as “insecurity” in Christ. The world and media has taught us that beauty only comes in a particular shape, color or size. God made us in His image and so how is it possible to be less than the “Standard”? We ARE the standard. We were fearfully and wonderfully made; designed to perfection by the Father above. Embrace who you are physically. God didn’t come down and question his looks. He knew who He belonged to. Physical beauty is important, but what is inside of you matters to him more and should frankly be of more importance to you as well.
You are rich. We live in a world now a days where you can become anything you choose. By this I’m referring to the fact that individuals can change their gender, and some can even decide that they want to be 6 year olds and live their lives as such. Knowing God, we know that we can be and are rich. We never have to worry about what we will have to eat, where we will find shelter, and etc., because God has already paved the way for us to experience that. If God takes care of the birds in the sky and the creatures that scurry along the earth how much more US His prized possessions. A number of us are suffering because we don’t know the type of power we have. The key that unleashes the abilities in our bloodlines is FAITH. The bible tells us that without faith, it is impossible to please God because it determines who He is to us. Faith produces the manifestation of the riches we already have access to.
You are favored. There is absolutely nothing that you can ask for that won’t be given to you when you walk in the favor and authority God has granted you. Of course it has to be aligned with God’s will, however, he has given us favor among our peers. With favor, we may not always get what we want, however, God will never fail to give us what we need. Being favored does not mean that you will not have any tests or trials, because you will. You will continuously need to prove to God that He is your priority and that you will continue to live under His direction, however, with the favor He has granted us, we will always be a step ahead.
We allow ourselves to be mistreated by people who barely know God because we barely know Him ourselves, thus explaining why we struggle to know who we are and what power we have. When you know who God is and who you are in Him, you know that you are worth more than what any human being can offer you, and you realize that you can do without certain people.
As we look for mates, I think we fail to realize that we are given signs quite often which tell us whether or not the person we are interested in will be right for us. Throughout the relationship, the person you are with tends to show bits and pieces of themselves to you. These characteristics may rub you the wrong way and make you feel that maybe the person is not the right one for you, but many of us choose to turn a blind eye towards it and then complain later about the misery we’ve allowed ourselves to be put in. I wrote a post about the fact that being single is not a disease or curse of any kind. When you know your value and who you are in Christ, you will acknowledge when someone is not right for you, and you will see it as gain instead of a loss. You will realize that it was better for you to let that person go so that someone designed in God’s image can take that place and treat you like royalty.
Many of us allow ourselves to be physically abused and even verbally abused simply because we fear being alone and having to start over. There is no abuse that is worth it. God has better planned for you as His child, and until you realize that for yourself, you will continue to put yourself in the same depressing cycle. You are worth more. Tell yourself you are worth more.
There’s an exercise that I tried with one of my clients, and although he refused to stick to it, I can say that it is a plan that can change the outlook you have about yourself. Everything that influences you starts in the mind. If you are able to subdue your mind to the thoughts God has of you, you will view yourself differently and act in the royalty that you inherited when Christ gave His life for you. So here is what you do: make a list of all the positive things you desire to be. Your list can look something like this:
not defined by my weight
Now, every morning, look at yourself in the mirror and make these declarations over yourself. The bible tells us that life and death lie in the power of the tongue. If you allow yourself to be put down, you will start to believe that those negative words are true. To reverse that, you need to speak life into yourself. Speak those words to yourself, and don’t just recite them, but truly believe that you are those things, simply because YOU ARE.
God created you with a purpose. He has a divine plan for your life and is just waiting for you to set your feet on the right path. He wants better for you than you even want for yourself and so it’s important to remember that God views you as a VALUABLE treasure. What He thinks of you is what matters most and should be your ONLY source of influence.
God loves you.
